The Frost or Fog Quarter Marathon and 5K and newly added 10-Mile is one of Chico’s favorite winter runs! Join us in Upper Bidwell Park for a great, challenging course that covers gravel, trail and road! This year’s beneficiaries are the Little Red Hen and the Bidwell Park Trails Program.

Event Details

The start and finish lines are at 5-Mile Recreation Area on Centennial Avenue in Upper Bidwell Park.

The last day to register is January 11 at Fleet Feet. There will be NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION.

 **Entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. Event is Rain or Shine.

Packet Pickup

Race packets with shirts, bibs and goodies will be available on Friday, January 11 from noon to 6 p.m. at Fleet Feet Chico, 241 Main Street, Downtown Chico.  This is the last day to register, there will be NO race day registration.

Race Day packet pickup will be available race morning from 7:00 – 8:15 am.

Beneficiary

We are pleased to donate a portion of our proceeds to the Little Red Hen and the Bidwell Park Trails Program. The Little Red Hen is a non-profit organization with three locations serving children and adults with developmental disabilities. 100% of their sales/donations benefit quality programs for children and adults with developmental disabilities like autism, cerebral palsy, Down’s syndrome and other cognitive disabilities. Timing and Finish Line

Disposable bib chip timing will provided by Under the Sun Events!  The finish line will close at 11:00 a.m.  Anyone finishing after that time will not be guaranteed an official time.

Race Check-in

Race day packet pickup will be available from 7:00 a.m. to 8:45 a.m.  There will be NO race day registration.

Course Description

The 5K course begins at 5 Mile on the levee and continues onto Wildwood Trail to the Shooting Range. Runners/walkers will turn around at the Shooting Range (also aid station #1) and come back along the bike path turning left onto 5 Mile Way. Runners/walkers will finish at the far end of the footbridge.

The 1/4 Marathon course is the same as the 5K course until the Shooting Range. 1/4 Marathon runners will pass the Shooting Range and continue back to Bear Hole (also aid station #2). Runners turn around at Bear Hole and will come back along the road, pass the Shooting Range, and turn left on 5 Mile Way. Runners will finish at the far end of the footbridge.

The 10-Mile course follows the 1/4 Marathon route but continues past Bear Hole for approximately1.75 miles before you turn around to join your friends on the way back!

Awards

The Awards Ceremony will be held near the finish line at approximately 10:00 AM. Awards will be given to the top three male and female finishers in 5-year age groups in the 5K Run and 1/4 Marathon and 10-year age groups for the 10-Mile . Overall male and female awards will be given in each distance (5K Run, 1/4 Marathon, and 10-Mile Run).

    I have a couple of questions. Will the results be listed on your website? I saw some photographers taking pictures at the finish line. Will those photos be on the website also?
