At the Saddle Dam Day Use Area on Kelly Ridge Road in Oroville
Under the Sun Events will be providing chip timing! There will be a small white foam strip on the back of your race bib. Please do not remove it, fold it or squish it; below it is the actual timing chip. Please wear your bib on the front of your shirt at waist height and be sure it is visible as you cross the start and finish lines. Most importantly, don’t forget your bib! No bib, no time!
Both the 5K and 1/4 Marathon will begin near the parking lot at Saddle Dam Day Use Area on Kelly Ridge Road. The 1/4 Marathon will start out on the Bidwell Canyon Trail (the lower trail) and proceed into the Bidwell Canyon Recreation Area where it will connect with the Dan Beebee Trail for a single three-mile loop. Runners will then return on the Bidwell Canyon Trail to Saddle Dam Day Use Area. The 5K course will begin on the upper, Dan Beebee Trail, and follow it into Bidwell Canyon to the water station where they will make a sharp right hand turn and race to the finish line on the Bidwell Canyon Trail.
The ~14-Mile course will utilize the 1/4 Marathon Course as well as travel through the Loafer Creek area of the Lake Oroville State Recreation Area. 14-milers will head across Saddle Dam into Loafer Creek in a counter clock-wise pattern. Heading up Loafer Creek Loop and continuing on the Roy Rogers Trail until it again meets the Loafer Creek Loop. When Loafer Creek Loops returns to the dam runners will again cross the dam and finish at the finish line at Saddle Dam Day Use Area.
